Well, normally I'm not the one to talk about my cats, but since she is the namesake for my performance here on piotw, I thought I let you know, that my 12 year old cat Farah is about to die. She is suffering from cancer (liver). But she is still walking around and giving friendly moans and a purr from time to time, so I think she is still enjoying life a little bit.
She has lost a lot of weight in the last weeks...from 10! kg to 4 kg at the moment, and she isn't eating and drinking enough. Seems as if she doesn't enjoy food and water any more. But on the other hand, she is still turning up speed when she hears me opening one of her beloved packages of cat sticks....but then...she doesn't eat them...just a little lick here and there.
Well, I hope I'm around when she is about to change the side....
Let's pray that she will not have to suffer.

OMG.....I am sooooooo sorry to hear about your cat. As you know I am a big cat fan and I know how difficult it is to loose a cat, especially an older one. I bet that you spoiled her rotten though. She was lucky to find a "master" like you !!! My 2 are 13 and 14 years old . I spoil them though like you spoiled Farah so when the time comes for them, I will remember how much I loved them and what I did for them. Thats what you have to think about now. Maybe down the road some, you might find a little Farah kitten who might need a home. |

I hope this helps to comfort you... I know it helped me, when I lost my beloved Tuchuk... a cat that acted like a dog, and was loved by all.. YOU will be in my thoughts!

The Rainbows Bridge Poem
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Words can't bandage emotional pain, but my thoughts and sympathy are with you.
Farah is in a better place, a place without pain and suffering, whilst always in your heart and soul.
May her afterlife be as happy as it ever was with you. And may your sadness heal within the gentle hands of time. |

Well I'm very sorry that your cat is suffering. It is very sad. But don't worry. I'll pray for your cat and I pray that she will not to suffer without cancer and I hope that she feels better and normal. Hope that helps for your cat. |
