My New Year wishes.. for 2015 - May this New Year give you the courage to triumph over your vices and embrace the virtues.
I really want people to be more kind to each other, especially those who spend time on the net. For some reason the anonymity of online life turns nice people mean, not all mind you, but many. I think that if people would stop, think, and feel before reacting to a news story, or post, they would feel empathy instead of thinking about their idea of witty cruel comment. Let me illustrate what I mean.. this morning I read how a 17 yr old transgender kid killed herself because she was not accepted by family or friends, and in despair she chose suicide. I went down to the comment section thinking that people would comment on how sad and unnecessary this suicidal action was. Instead I saw really nasty comments about this child's choices. I will not argue about the transgender issue, what it normal or abnormal, but I would argue that we should show some compassion and sympathy for that child, her family, and friends.. sigh..
So that is what I want for 2015; I want more kindness, compassion, and love to spread around the internet, and while disagreeing on topics, never make it personal..
BTW.. I have never experienced the above example here on PIOTW, everyone has been kind to me. I enjoy my time here..
