Just a quick note to say that if anyone has any questions regarding games, just ask Toast and Peterre. Either one will willingly take the time to explain the reason(reasons) as to how to play the game or how the scores are derived . They are more than willing to help.

A quick question. Why do some of the games not 'submit' a score. I know that each game must have the proper files for the scoring module to submit. I know this because I uploaded games to arcades before, both v32 and non. Also Mochi before they closed down. Just curious if anyone knows why some games submit and others don't. .

Hey Chippy =] Can I ask which games specifically you're unable to submit scores for?

Are the games 'Christmas' games? If so, there -is- a glitch where it will only allow you to save a score once, then every time thereafter, all cookies and history has to be deleted, -before- you can save/submit a score again for the same game.

I know this is all sorts of wrong, but, its the only way (that I found) which allows me to submit scores more than once. (for Christmas games).

Forgive any delays, I'm in and out of the living room while juggling with laundry and the hoover.

**Thank you Saucy for alerting me to the question =]

Yah there are a couple of non-Christmas games that require you to die before the end in order to submit the score, which is easily doable (no hardship, although very annoying when you gain a super high score without dying) lol.

Further explanation, sometimes, there are -natural- cut off points within certain games, because they are the -free- version, they don't allow -full- game play, one of the reasons why we have to die before submission is possible.

There are various other reasons why some games don't allow submission, but I'm unable to clarify exactly what they are, simply because I don't know enough about the game or the publisher, or the glitch that may be causing it.

But on the whole, there aren't too many of those games, (thankfully) =]

Also -sometimes- in the short game descriptions OR on the -Game Strategy- and -Reviews- below the game, people have mentioned about dying before score submission is possible, which is always helpful..... HOWEVER, you cant read the text because they're invisible UNLESS you HIGHLIGHT the box, and hey presto you can read the text.

I realise that it's annoying, (but a totally unintentional problem that occurred a while back), when things changed over to the newer version of the site. We suddenly lost visibility of all text in the -Reviews- And -Game Strategy- sections. But at least you -Can- read it if its manually highlighted.

Whilst there are small problems in particular places, there's nearly always a way of getting around them, all be it unconventional lol.

Sadly though, nothing we can do to change the games where we need to deliberately die before submission. -Unless- of course, anyone can upload another version of the same game, which allows full game-play without deliberate death.

With the -Christmas Games- though, you can keep submitting scores, AS LONG AS, after each submission, you clear your cookies and history -before- playing the game again. (occasionally some people might need to log out, then delete history and cookies, then log back in again), but usually just deleting history and cookies works for most.

I hope this information has helped a little.

Gosh.. sorry I missed yall's replies!.. Such thoughtful peeps you all are and I am thankful. I have been busy over here.. umm there is one game that I play almost daily, and maybe one out of ten tries, I am able to complete it. There are NO scores for the game.. nada.. lol.. below is the name of the game along with the linky.

Shoot The Gem --> http://www.playitontheweb.com/games/Shoot-The-Gems-game.htm

btw, I don't care if it is fixed, I really just like to compete with myself... but was curious as to why it doesn't submit. There are others, but I don't have time to look for them..

Thank you for posting the link to the game =]

Unfortunately 'Shoot The Gems' -isn't- high-score enabled. One of many games here that falls under the other categories.

Any game where you notice there are no visible scores showing, means the same. There are only a few thousand high-score enabled games, in ratio to the majority (of many several thousand) which are not enabled.

There's a few of us (including your good self) that would like a few games to be score -enabled-, but as yet it cant happen.

Not so much a -fixing- issue, as some games where uploaded that way (the version being score disabled). There are some games that -can- be enabled, but its a rare thing.

I hope this has better clarified things regarding score submissions. At least you're happy to compete with yourself, and I hope you continue to enjoy doing so =]

Don't forget, that if you come across a downloadable version of the game where it -is- score-enabled, it would be a good idea to message Haplo, and ask him directly. If he agrees, he will help you with the uploading of it =]

K..thanx dear Toast, saucyone, and peterre... yall are such nice peeps.

Unless haplo lets me know what TYPE of files he needs to enable the scores for this arcade, I won't be able to proceed... I have a lot of v32 games and non v32 games on my system. I used them on a small women's website in my arcade. Different gaming arcades sometimes require different files to be uploaded.

I am fine with non scoring games though, I was just curious as to WHY.. lol

xoxox to all you fine peeps!!

I think it might be worth messaging Haplo directly, he can tell you the exact reasons, but more to the point, you would -understand- it better from the man himself, because you both speak the same language....-Computers/Programming/Games- lol.

Peterre is hugely knowledgeable with computers/programming/games and alike, as are a select few others, but Haplo is -The- source for the type of information you're after.

Its always worth firing off a message to him =]
